Schuylkill County’s own Baaahd Girls made an impressive debut at the 2025 Pennsylvania Farm Show Sheep to Shawl competition, securing a third-place finish out of seven teams.
This was the first year the team competed, and they went head-to-head with seasoned veterans in the fast-paced event.
The competition, which took place on January 8th, 2025, challenged participants to shear a sheep, spin the fleece, and weave it into a beautifully themed shawl—all in just 2.5 hours. The teams were judged on their craftsmanship, creativity, and time, with bonus points awarded for efficiency.
Despite the steep competition, the Baaahd Girls stood out with their impressive speed, finishing third in time and earning bonus points.
Following the event, the shawl was auctioned off, with the Pine Grove's Red Lion Cafe stepping in as the proud purchaser. The cafe has announced they will display the shawl at their restaurant for a limited time.
