Sen. Dave Argall Sworn in for New Term, Appointed Chair of Senate Majority Policy Committee

Sen. Dave Argall (R-29) was sworn into office on Tuesday to continue representing Schuylkill, Carbon, and southern Luzerne counties in the Pennsylvania State Senate.

Argall, who has served in the legislature for over three decades, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support he received in the recent election.

“I was honored that every single precinct in the 29th district, from Pitman to the Poconos, voted to send me back to Harrisburg as their voice in our state senate,” Argall said. “My main goal remains the same: to continue to work with my local partners to breathe new life into all of our towns across this senate district.”

In a development for the upcoming legislative session, Argall was appointed chair of the Senate Majority Policy Committee by Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward (R-39). In this role, he will lead public hearings and workshops across Pennsylvania to address pressing issues facing the state.

The committee’s first hearing is scheduled for Thursday in Hamburg, where lawmakers will explore strategies for repurposing long-vacant state properties.

Argall highlighted the importance of this position, noting that it provides a platform to tackle diverse policy challenges.

“Chairing the Majority Policy Committee allows me to examine a great variety of legislative ideas through public hearings and careful review, including the shortage of quality housing, the spread of blight, and the impact of crime on our largest cities and smallest neighborhoods,” he said.

Argall also reminded constituents that his district offices in Hazleton, Pottsville, Mahanoy City, and Weissport are available to assist with state-related issues. The offices are open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
