UPDATE: State Police Launch Investigation After 24-Year-Old Woman Found Dead in Schuylkill Haven Home

The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Troop L in Schuylkill Haven has launched an investigation into the death of a 24-year-old woman, following a welfare check at her residence on Parkway in Schuylkill Haven.

According to a release from Public Information Officer Trooper Ethan Brownback, att approximately 2:30 p.m. on Monday, the Schuylkill Haven Police Department was notified of a non-attended death at 20 Parkway. The family of the resident had asked a friend to check on the woman after failing to reach her. Upon arriving at the home, the friend found her unresponsive and immediately called 911.

When officers from the Schuylkill Haven Police Department arrived, they confirmed that the woman was deceased. Her body was discovered on the stairwell of the residence, which was described as being in disarray.

The Schuylkill County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and estimated that the woman had been deceased for approximately 48 hours. Due to questions surrounding the cause and manner of death, the coroner’s office and the Schuylkill Haven Police Department requested assistance from the Pennsylvania State Police.

The PSP Troop L Major Case Team has been activated and is working with the Schuylkill Haven Police Department. Investigators have conducted multiple interviews and executed search warrants as part of their ongoing inquiry. An autopsy will be performed by the Schuylkill County Coroner’s Office.

State police have not released the victim’s identity, citing the ongoing investigation. However, they emphasized that this appears to be an isolated incident and that there is no immediate threat to public safety.
