UPDATE: Charges Shift in East Norwegian Township Dumping Case: Pottsville Man Cleared, Schuylkill Haven Resident Now Accused

Illegal dumping charges were withdrawn against a Pottsville man, and charges were filed against a Schuylkill Haven man for the incident.

In an original report from St. Clair Police, on December 18th, 2024, they were contacted by officials from East Norwegian Township in regard to a large load of trash that was dumped along Eagle Hill Road.

Officers began an investigation and through security camera footage on homes and businesses, they were able to find video of a 1997 Ford F350 dump truck in the area at the time of the dumping.

Additional video would be found of the same truck entering the area full of garbage then leaving moments later empty.

The registration on the truck led them to McNulty Auto Sales, owned by Thomas McNulty.

Police went to the business and found the truck in the video.  St. Clair Police originally filed charges McNulty with scattering rubbish on Tuesday, January 14th, 2025.  After the incident, Skook News was contacted by family of the accused who stated he was not the suspect involved.

On January 15th, 2025, the charges against Thomas McNulty were withdrawn for the incident through Magisterial District Judge Dave Plachko's office.  According to court documents, on the same date, Tyler McNulty, 32, of Schuylkill Haven was charged with a summary scattering rubbish charge for the same incident.

The court papers stated Tyler McNulty emptied a truck load of garbage along Eagle Hill Road on December 18th, 2024.

In a statement when the charges were originally announced, St. Clair Police and East Norwegian Township officials said "They will not tolerate illegal dumping of garbage in the township."
