Charges Pending After Fiery Three-Vehicle Crash in Pottsville

Charges are pending after a crash in Pottsville last weekend that involved three vehicles and fire.

According to Pottsville Police, on Sunday, February 2nd, 2025, at 1:25am, city officers, along with The Pottsville Fire Department and Schuylkill EMS, were dispatched to the 2000 block of West Market Street for a vehicle that crashed into a house and on fire.

Police arrived on scene and found a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta on fire.

The Jetta, driven by Abigail Walker, 36, of Llewellyn, was traveling west on West Market Street and struck a 2005 Toyota Tundra belonging to Joseph Devine, 69, of Pottsville that was parked in front of 2028 West Market.  The impact pushed the Toyota forward into a house, 2032 West Market Street, along with a Ford F-150 belonging to Scott Schreffler, 52, of Pottsville.

All three vehicles involved caught fire and sustained heavy damage. All vehicles except the Jetta were unoccupied at the time of the crash.

The home sustained minimal fire damage, and no injuries occurred as a result of this accident.

Police say Walker is suspected of driving impaired, charges pending awaiting results of a Blood Alcohol Content test.
