Driver Cited After Running Red Light, Causing Crash on Lehigh Ave
On Friday February 14, 2025, around 8:30am, Frackville Police were dispatched to the intersection of Spring St. and Lehigh Ave for a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries.
Upon arrival and conducting the investigation, it was determined that Nathallya Hickok, 34 of Frackville, was traveling west, in a Toyota Tundra, on Spring Street and entered the Lehigh Ave. and Spring St. intersection with the steady green signal. Yarly Gomez- Ferreiras, 41 of St. Clair, was traveling south on Lehigh Ave. in a Toyota Corolla.
Gomez-Ferreiras entered the Lehigh Ave. and Spring St. intersection against a steady red signal and struck Hickok as she passed.
Disabling damage was sustained to both vehicles.
Gomez-Ferreiras was transported by Ashland EMS to LVH-E for a complaint of face and head pain.
Gomez-Ferreiras will be cited for the red-light violation by Ptlm Joseph Murton.
Assisting with the accident were Frackville Fire Dept., Ashland EMS and Hoffman’s Towing.

Rear-End Collision on S. Lehigh Ave Sends One to Hospital
On February 18, 2025, at approximately 4:10pm, Frackville Police were dispatched to the intersection of S. Lehigh Ave and Laurel St for motor vehicle accident.
Investigation revealed that Janelle Moyer, 44 of Frackville, was traveling north on S. Lehigh Ave. (State Route 61) in Ford Bronco and stopped at the intersection with Laurel St., intending to turn onto Laurel St.
Summer Leech, 20, of Frackville, was traveling behind Moyer in Toyota Corolla and had stopped, waiting for Moyer to turn.
Jordyn Hilbert, 27, of Pottsville, was also traveling north on S. Lehigh Ave. in a Ford Focus and failed to stop for traffic due to being distracted.
Hilbert struck the rear of Leech’s vehicle, which in turn struck the rear of Moyer’s vehicle. Hilbert’s vehicle and Leech’s vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
A passenger in Leech’s vehicle complained of injury and was transported to Geisinger St. Luke’s Hospital in Orwigsburg.
Also, during investigation, it was revealed that Hilbert had a suspended driver’s license. As a result, he will be cited for the violation.Assisting with the accident were Frackville Fire Dept., Shenandoah EMS and Steve’s Towing.

Driver Loses Control on Snowy Route 924, Crashes into Tow Truck
On Friday February 14, 2025, around 3:40am, Frackville Police were summoned to Catawissa St for a reported motor vehicle accident.Through investigation, the driver of the vehicle was identified as Luis Ortiz, 31 of Pottsville, and was traveling South on route 924 when he lost control of his vehicle due to snow and ice on the roadway. Ortiz did not sustain any injuries and refused transport by EMS.
Frackville Police were assisted on scene by Frackville EMS, Frackville Fire Dept and Steve’s Towing.
