Martz Hall was electric Wednesday night as fans packed the stands for the Schuylkill League Boys Basketball Semifinals.
The Minersville Battlin’ Miners took control early and never looked back, securing a 65-51 victory over the Nativity BVM Hilltoppers.
Minersville set the tone right from the opening tip, jumping out to a 21-12 lead by the end of the first quarter. The Miners carried that momentum into halftime, extending their lead to 35-21.
Nativity BVM struggled to close the gap, as Minersville continued to dominate in the second half, finishing the third quarter up 50-34 before closing out the 65-51 win.
Despite the loss, Nativity BVM's season is far from over. As the No. 3 seed in District XI Class A, the Hilltoppers will compete in the district tournament next week, aiming to keep their postseason hopes alive.

Nativity BVM’s Top Scorers:
- Trey Keating – 26 points (4 three-pointers)
- Sam Walborn – 15 points (4 three-pointers)
- Noah Dolbin – 10 points
With the win, Minersville advances to the Schuylkill League Championship, where they will take on Pottsville at 7:30 p.m. at Martz Hall.
