No injuries were reported in a tractor-trailer crash that closed Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County from Tuesday night into Wednesday.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred around 9:20 p.m. Tuesday in the southbound lanes of Interstate 81 at mile marker 135.9 in Delano Township, between McAdoo and Delano.
Troopers said Moises Membreno Umana, 34, of Thomasville, NC, was driving a southbound Kenworth T800 hauling piping when he lost control.
Membreno Umana struck a concrete jersey barrier, causing the truck to jackknife and come to a stop against the barrier.
The truck's entire load of piping scattered across the left southbound lane of the highway blocking traffic.
The truck sustained disabling damage, but Membreno Umana was not injured.
Interstate 81 southbound was closed overnight and reopened around 6:00 a.m. Wednesday.
