Pennsylvania State Police Release Photo of Suspects on the Run During St. Clair Walmart Incident

The Pennsylvania State Police have released a photo of the two suspects on the run from authorities and are attempting to identify one of them following a pursuit from Dauphin County to Schuylkill County on Sunday.

The pursuit, which began in Dauphin County and ended in Schuylkill County, stemmed from an incident involving a firearm on Interstate 81.

According to Trooper Megan Frazer, Public Information Officer for Pennsylvania State Police Troop H, the situation unfolded around 12:40 p.m. when a motorist traveling north on I-81 near mile marker 57.1 in Silver Spring Township reported seeing a red Toyota Tundra pointing a firearm at other vehicles.

State police located the suspect vehicle on I-81 near mile marker 78 in West Hanover Township and attempted a traffic stop. While the truck initially complied, it soon fled, leading officers on a chase.

The vehicle exited the highway and stopped in the area of 7000 Manor Drive, where one of the occupants fired multiple rounds at troopers, striking a police vehicle. The suspects then fled again, reentering I-81 north before taking the Frackville exit.

The pursuit continued south on Route 61 and ended in St. Clair when the suspects’ vehicle became disabled. Four individuals fled on foot. Two were quickly apprehended, while the remaining two are still being sought by law enforcement.

Late Sunday night, Pennsylvania State Police confirmed that the two at-large suspects entered the Walmart in St. Clair through the general merchandise entrance. Surveillance footage revealed that they discarded some of their clothing and shoplifted new attire to alter their appearance before leaving through the southeast emergency exit.

State Police released a photo on Tuesday of the suspects in the store, one of them being Jeremiah Begley – A 17-year-old white male from Kingsport, Tennessee, standing 5’8” and weighing 172 pounds, with brownish-auburn hair. Begley was last seen wearing a Nirvana T-shirt, matching one shown in released image.

State police say the Unidentified Male – A white male with a darker complexion and heavier build, last seen wearing grey sweatpants and a black shirt.  In the new photo, it also shows he has long black hair.

State Police are also asking anyone with security cameras in the areas of St. Clair to New Philadelphia to check their footage to see if they captured the suspects.

Charges Filed Against Suspects

Court records filed in Dauphin County through Magisterial District Judge Dale E. Klein show that Begley has been charged with multiple offenses, including criminal attempted homicide, receiving stolen property, reckless endangerment, simple assault, carrying a loaded weapon, possession of a firearm by a minor, and aggravated assault. Begley remains at large and has an active warrant.

No information was available on the second suspect that was reported to be in custody.

As of Monday afternoon, no further details have been released by police regarding the search for the remaining suspects. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Pennsylvania State Police.
