Pottsville Area Defeats Tri-Valley to Advance to Schuylkill League Semifinals

The Pottsville Area Crimson Tide surged past the Tri-Valley Bulldogs with a 63-52 victory in the Schuylkill League Boys Basketball Quarterfinals.

The third-seeded Crimson Tide from Division 1 found themselves in a tightly contested battle early on, with the second-seeded Bulldogs from Division 2 trailing by just two points, 15-13, at the end of the first quarter. However, Pottsville began to pull away in the second quarter, outscoring Tri-Valley to take a 30-20 lead into halftime.

Pottsville maintained their momentum in the third quarter, extending their advantage to 45-35. Despite a resilient effort from the Bulldogs, the Crimson Tide closed out the game with a 63-52 win.

With this victory, Pottsville advances to face Mahanoy Area in the semifinals on Wednesday, continuing their pursuit of the Schuylkill League title.

Tri-Valley's season, however, is far from over. The Bulldogs hold the top seed in the District XI Class 2A tournament, where they will look to make a deep postseason run.
