The February 2025 Students of the Month of the Pottsville Rotary Club were honored at the Rotary Club weekly meeting on Wednesday, February 5, at Vito’s Coal Fired Restaurant in St. Clair.

NATIVITY HIGH SCHOOL
Ella Putalavage
Ella Putalavage is the daughter of Kelly and Thomas Putalavage, Minersville. Her school activities consist of: Student Government, Student ambassador, Volleyball, Interact Club, Spanish Club, and Prom Committee
She volunteers in the community at Vacation Bible School, Pottsville Soup Kitchen, Volleyball Camp, helped with locker room renovations and as a Tutor.
After graduation, Ella plans to attend East Stroudsburg University to major in marketing. She would like to have her own marketing firm.

Lukas McNamara
Lukas McNamara is the son of Kevin and Bernadine McNamara, Minersville. His school activities are Football, Wrestling, Track and Field, Evangelization Team, National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Interact Club, and Chess Club. He volunteers as a food pantry worker for Most Blessed Holy Trinity Parish, snow shoveling and lawn cutting for elderly neighbors, helping at St. John the Baptist Parish midsummer festival, running scoreboards for youth wrestling tournaments at Martz Hall, and as an Altar Server at St. John the Baptist Parish.
After graduation he plans to continue his education by studying Forensic Biology at a college or university. He would like to be a DNA Analyst for the FBI.
POTTSVILLE AREA HIGH SCHOOL
Madison Hennick
Madison Hennick is the daughter of Kristian and Ross Hennick, Pottsville. Her school activities include secretary of marching band and concert band, and majorettes. Member of Alpha Iota Delta (AID), Mini-Thon, Student Council, National Honor Society and French National Honor Society.
In the community, Madison delivered Holiday baskets and volunteered at local events for clubs and activities.
After graduation, Madison plans to continue her education at Wilkes University to study pharmacy and obtain her Doctor of Pharmacy to become a pharmacist.

Kailey Olenick
Kailey Olenick is the daughter of, Matthew Olenick and Jennifer Shappell, Pottsville. Her school activities include AID, Key Club, MiniThon, Foreign Language Club, Student Council homeroom representative, Prom Committee, National Honors Society and Spanish National Honors Society. She is the founding member of Aevidum, where she is a leader of this club. Kailey is also an editor of the yearbook.
In the community, she volunteered to help at multiple kids’ nights to raise money for “MiniThon”, which helps kids with pediatric cancer. She also volunteered to help clean up and paint her school’s football stadium. For multiple years, she volunteered at a Yuengling winter fest, where children had the opportunity to make crafts. She also volunteered at many club events including, hosting a concession stand for a school play, helping at a blood drive, delivering holidays baskets and Christmas gifts, and volunteering at elementary school “fun day”.
After graduation, Kailey plans to attend college to receive her nursing degree and become a CRNA.
MINERSVILLE AREA HIGH SCHOOL

Ava Long
Ava Long is the daughter of Kim Haslam-Long & Richard Long, Minersville. Her school activities include Aveidum Club, Spanish Club, SADD Club, and Yearbook Club. In the community, she volunteers at youth sport game and Elementary School Events.
After graduation, Ava plans to join the military to become a Navy Master at Arms.

Logan Hutsko
Logan Hutsko is the son of Andrew Mark and Petronella Hutsko, Cass Township - Pottsville. His school activities include Student Council - Treasurer, member of the Aevidum Club, Positive Role Model Club, TV Studio Club, Planning Committee, Baseball, Football and Basketball Teams.
In the community, Logan volunteers at St. Nicholas Community Picnic, Minersville Little League and Minersville Youth Basketball. After graduation, he plans to attend Elizabethtown College majoring in Criminal Justice and play baseball.

Lorelei Bowers
Lorelei Bowers is the daughter of John Bowers - Branchdale and Jessica Hazelton - Minersville. Her school activities include Aevidum Club, Pep Club, Student Council, Yearbook Committee, and Peer Buddy.
In the community, she volunteers at the Hillside Animal Shelter. After graduation, Lorelei plans to attend Bloomsburg University to study Medical Imaging.

Easton H. Schultz
Easton H. Schultz is the son of Alicia Tobin and Dave Schultz, Pottsville. His school activities include Student Council, Aevidum Club, Minersville TV Studio, SADD, Baseball and Football teams.
In the community, Easton volunteers with the blood drive, cemetery and town cleanup, and assists the elderly with snow removal. After graduation, he plans to attend a four-year college and then apply to the State Police Academy.
