Elaine A. Bender, age 86, of (Lincoln) Pine Grove, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, in the Tremont Health & Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by her family.
Born on April 16, 1938 in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Mark and Catherine Bentz Holley.
Elaine was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Pine Grove. She dedicated her life to being a devoted wife and mother and cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, playing Parcheesi, doing puzzles, baking, sewing, listening to Polkas, and cheering on the Phillies.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Bender, to whom she was married for 54 years, on November 13, 2013; a sister, Joy Whitby and a brother, Mark Holley.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda and husband Tom Seibert of Pine Grove; a son, Jamie Bender of Pine Grove; two grandchildren, David Anspach, Jr. and fiancee' Erika Mullin of Tremont, Heather and husband Michael Bellows of Elizabethtown; two great grandchildren, Braden Bellows and Hailey Bellows; and a sister Jane Culley of Pottsville.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at 11:30 AM at the H L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove with Pastor Marie Meeks officiating. There will be a viewing on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 11:30 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove.
The family would prefer, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 312 S. Tulpehocken Street, Pine Grove, Pa. 17963, in her memory.
Cynthia Ann “Cindy” Clark, 67, of Pottsville, passed away on Thursday, February 13th, at home.
Born in Pottsville on August 8th, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Anna Mae (Heffner) and Charles Powanda, Sr.
Cindy was the widow of Gerard F. Clark.
She was a 1975 graduate of Pottsville Area High School.
She had been employed by Walmart and KFC, retiring in 2019.
Cindy was a member of the former Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Pottsville. She enjoyed playing bingo at Good Will Hose Co. in Cressona.
Cindy is survived by a daughter, Lisa, wife of Gene Argraves, of Orwigsburg; and three sons: Gerard Clark, Jr., of Pottsville; Gary Clark, husband of Brooke, of Temple; and Stephen J. Clark, husband of Bethann, of Pottsville. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 4 brothers, 4 sisters, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Cindy is preceded in death by a brother, Charles Powanda, Jr.; granddaughter, Lillian Mae Argraves; and great grandson, Gavin DeMarco.
A viewing for family and friends will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18th at Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven.
Gerard L. Loftus, 65, of Leck Kill, former Ashland resident, passed away Friday, February 14, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Mariane C. Boger, 66, of McAdoo, passed away Friday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg.
Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Helen (Student) Pohida.
Mariane was a member of Church of All Saints, McAdoo. She was a graduate of Hazleton High School and McCann School of Business.
Prior to retiring, she was employed in the banking industry as a lending officer.
Preceding her in death, were her husband, MSgt. George J. Boger, USAF, Retired; and sister Arlene Boger.
Surviving are her sister, Helen Yelito, of McAdoo; and nephew Adam Yelito and wife Dani.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, February 19. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. in Church of All Saints, McAdoo. Interment will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
A calling hour will be held Wednesday from 12 to 1 p.m. in the church.
