Anthony “Tony” P. Catizone
, 69, of Pocono Lake and former Ashland resident, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 31st at his residence.

Born in Ashland on January 2, 1956, he was the son of Joan (Coyne) and the late Panteleona Catizone. He had been employed as the district manager for United Artist and Regal movie theaters. After retirement, he enjoyed volunteering at the local hospital and was a member of the American Legion Post 413, Pocono Lake.

Above all things, Tony cherished his role as both ‘Dad’ and ‘PopPop’. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Some of his notable favorite pastimes included watching horror movies and enjoying salty snacks, happy hour with a good martini, and cooking. Tony had a love for camping, fishing with his son and grandson, and traveling with Karen and their dog Kallie.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife Patti Ann (Tuckett) Catizone.

Anthony is survived by his mother, Joan Catizone. He is also survived by his son William Catizone and his wife Katherine of Shamokin; daughter Whitney Peters and her husband Wesley of Oak Creek, CO; daughter Shaina Habrack and her husband Christopher of Harveys Lake.

In addition to his children, his grandchildren Henry and Jack Catizone, Wrenly Peters, Haley Habrack and Baby Habrack; his companion of twelve years, Karen Zartman of Pocono Lake, and her children; three sisters, Teresa Catizone, Luquillo, Puerto Rico; Tina and ChrisConnell, Palmyra; and Kathryn and Tom Balsavage, Girardville. He will be missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon on Thursday, Feb. 6th in St. Vincent’s Catholic Church, 260 N. Second St. Girardville with Rev. Giuseppe Esposito, pastor, as the celebrant. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of mass.

Patricia Tracy
, 86, of Tamaqua passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, Jerome Tracy, and also by her brother Arthur Krasowski and his wife Joan.

Born in Mahanoy City in 1938, Patricia was the daughter of Adelaide (Szymanski) and Walter Krasowski. A 1956 graduate of Mahanoy City High School, she coordinated her class reunions for many years.

Patricia worked for General Cigar, and later became a Certified Nurses Assistant, working at local nursing homes. She coached CYO Girls basketball at St. Jerome’s, and helped her husband Jerry as Assistant Coach of the Marian High School Girls Softball team.
Pat and Jerry were avid Phillies, Eagles and Notre Dame fans.

‘Aunt Pat’ is survived by many nieces and nephews, all of whom loved her dearly. She is also survived by her caring cousins, the Bileddo family of Rock Island, IL.

A mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Wednesday February 5, 2025 at 11 o’clock AM from St. Richard’s R.C.C. 799 Barnesville Road, Pennsylvania 18214, where Patricia was a parishioner.
Friends may call in church from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

Interment will be in St. Jerome R.C.C. Cemetery, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.

Lois M. Hoffner
, 90, of Schuylkill Haven passed away Friday while a resident of Orwigsburg Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Facility.

Born April 15, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Esther Zulick.

Lois was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven Area High School in 1952.

She worked as a seamstress throughout her life in the area factories.

Lois was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Schuylkill Haven. She enjoyed to paint and color along with making ceramics.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters Anna, Beatrice, and Donna and her brothers; Harry, Wayne, George, Leroy, Robert, Donald, and John.

She is survived by her sister, Patricia of Bel Air MD, and her brothers Dale of Schuylkill Haven and Ronald of Poulsbo, WA.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 10th at Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 252 Dock Street, Schuylkill Haven, at 10:30 A.M. Family and friends are welcome from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services. Interment will follow on the grounds of Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
