Schuylkill County Rock Icons, The Jordan Brothers, Receive Hall of Fame Recognition

The Jordan Brothers, a rock and roll band from Frackville, Schuylkill County are set to be inducted into the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame (CPMHOF) on March 5, 2025, at the American Music Theatre in Lancaster.

Formed in the mid-1950s, the Jordan Brothers—comprising Joe, Frank, Bob, and Lew Jordan—were active from 1954 to 1986. They gained significant regional popularity in Schuylkill County and beyond, releasing over 24 singles on 15 different labels.

In 1957, they began a five-year engagement at Renninger's Market between Orwigsburg and Schuylkill Haven, marking the start of several long-term relationships with venues in the area.

Their performances at local dance halls, including Willow Lake, Lakeside Ballroom, and The Alley, became legendary, drawing large crowds and solidifying their status as local icons.

One of their notable achievements was their 1966 recording of "Gimme Some Lovin'," which charted in cities like Boston and Baltimore. Interestingly, their version was released in the U.S. before the original by the Spencer Davis Group.

The band also has their own legacy roo inside the Frackville Historical Society.

The ceremony will also honor other notable artists, including August Burns Red, Anita Humes, The Innocence Mission, Mike Reid, and the Soulville All-Stars.
