State Awards $453,881 to Replace Clark Street Bridge in Donaldson

A project to replace the deteriorating Clark Street Bridge over Good Spring Creek in Donaldson has been awarded $453,881 in state funding, state officials announced on Wednesday.

Sen. Dave Argall (R-29) and Rep. JoAnne Stehr (R-107) made a joint announcement in regard to the funding.

Frailey Township officials have prioritized the replacement project due to the high volume of motorists, including residents, employers, construction vehicles, and first responders, who rely on the bridge daily.

“Upkeeping our roads and bridges is an important piece of building strong communities, yet these projects can be very expensive for local governments,” said Argall. “I’m grateful this highly competitive state funding will help make Donaldson safer for motorists.”

Stehr echoed this sentiment, highlighting the significance of infrastructure investment in the region.

"Investing in our local infrastructure is crucial to ensuring safe and reliable transportation for our communities," said Stehr. "This funding will help replace the Clark Street Bridge, providing a much-needed improvement for residents and travelers in the 107th District and across the region. I’m happy to see support for critical projects that enhance safety and connectivity in our communities."

The project has also received an additional $100,000 from the Multimodal Transportation Fund in 2024.
