UPDATE: U.S. Marshals Arrest Two Suspects in Connecticut; Third Suspect Identified and Charged in Multi-County Pursuit and Shooting Incident

** This story was updated as we received word just after posting that the two suspects were captured.

The U.S. Marshals, in collaboration with the Hartford Police Department, report that they have arrested two juveniles in Hartford on Thursday who were wanted on charges of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer in Pennsylvania.  The U.S. Marshals press release did not name the suspects.

The Pennsylvania State Police requested assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service, which developed intelligence indicating the fugitives had traveled to Connecticut. On Thursday, February 27, members of the U.S. Marshals Connecticut Violent Fugitive Task Force and Hartford PD arrested both juveniles at a residence on Townley Street.

The two suspects were transported to the Hartford Police Department for booking. Pennsylvania officials will seek extradition on charges including criminal attempt homicide, receiving stolen property, reckless endangerment, simple assault, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of a firearm by a minor, and aggravated assault.

THIRD SUSPECT IDENTIFIED

Newly released court records filed in Dauphin County have identified a third suspect involved in the incident. On February 26, 2025, authorities charged Christian J. Guerrero Jr., 17, of Kingsport, Tennessee, in connection with the February 23 events.

Guerrero faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, including:

  • Criminal Attempt - Criminal Homicide (F1)
  • Receiving Stolen Property (F2, multiple counts)
  • Recklessly Endangering Another Person (M2)
  • Simple Assault (M2, multiple counts)
  • Firearms Not to Be Carried Without a License (F3, multiple counts)
  • Aggravated Assault - Attempts to Cause or Causes Bodily Injury to Designated Individuals (F2)

The Pennsylvania State Police initiated a pursuit after receiving reports of a firearm being brandished from a red Toyota Tundra traveling north on I-81. When troopers attempted a stop, the vehicle initially pulled over before speeding away, prompting a high-speed chase.

The situation escalated when the suspects exited the highway near 7000 Manor Drive, where one suspect fired multiple rounds at troopers, striking a police vehicle. The chase continued onto I-81 north before concluding in St. Clair, where the suspects abandoned the disabled vehicle and fled on foot. Two individuals were apprehended immediately, while two others remained at large.

Surveillance footage later captured the two remaining suspects inside a Walmart in St. Clair, changing their clothing in an attempt to disguise themselves before exiting through an emergency door. Authorities identified these individuals as Jeremiah Begley, 17, of Kingsport, Tennessee, and Christian Guerrero.

Previously arrested suspect Kadence Gooch, 18, also of Kingsport, faces similar charges, including fleeing and eluding law enforcement, reckless driving, and illegal firearm possession. Gooch is currently detained in Dauphin County Jail without bail. The identity and charges against the fourth suspect, who is reportedly in custody, have not yet been disclosed.
