On Friday, two standout high school football players from Schuylkill County were named to the Pennsylvania Team Roster for the 2025 Big 33 Football Classic.
The Big 33 Classic, often referred to as the "Super Bowl of High School Football," is an annual all-star game featuring the top high school football players from Pennsylvania and Maryland. This year marks the 68th edition of the event, which will be held on Sunday, May 25th, during Memorial Day weekend. The game will take place at Cumberland Valley High School’s Chapman Field, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.
Representing Schuylkill County in this prestigious event are:
- Michael Gelatko, Tight End from Marian Catholic High School
- Gavin Mentzer, Punter from North Schuylkill High School
