A Pottsville man is facing multiple charges after a hit-and-run crash in the city earlier this month.
On March 6, 2025, at approximately 4:51 p.m., Pottsville Police responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 300 block of South Centre Street. Upon arrival, officers found a blue 2023 Mini-Cooper disabled in the roadway, facing south in the northbound lane. The driver, a 27-year-old woman from Pine Grove, reported that a gray or silver sedan had pulled out of a parking spot on the west side of the street, struck the passenger side of her vehicle, and then fled the scene.
Police reviewed surveillance footage from cameras in the area, which showed a gray Honda Civic with New York registration attempting a U-turn in the middle of the road. The Mini-Cooper, which was traveling south, swerved into the northbound lane to avoid the Civic. However, the Civic's front bumper struck the Mini-Cooper's passenger side, leaving it disabled, before fleeing north on South Centre Street.
Following an investigation, authorities identified the driver of the Honda Civic as 26-year-old Brandon Wilson of Pottsville. A records check revealed that Wilson's driver’s license was suspended in New York. When contacted by police, Wilson admitted to being the driver involved in the crash.
Wilson has been charged with Accident Involving an Attended Vehicle (Misdemeanor 3), Driving While Suspended (Summary Offense), and Limitations on Turning Around (Summary Offense).
