The Kidney Foundation of Central Pennsylvania is set to host an educational presentation on Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) at the Ringtown Senior Center, located at 104 W. Main Street, Ringtown.
The free, 30-minute session will take place on April 8, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., aiming to raise awareness about kidney health, CKD risk factors, and prevention strategies.
Lynne Wright, a Masters-level social worker, kidney donor, and Program Coordinator for the Kidney Foundation of Central PA, will lead the session. Wright, who has extensive experience training peer mentors through the Patient & Family Partner Program, will provide both professional expertise and personal insight into managing CKD.
The presentation will cover:
- The role of the kidneys in maintaining overall health
- Risk factors and early warning signs of CKD
- Lifestyle changes to slow kidney disease progression
- Treatment options, including dialysis and transplantation
- Resources and support available through the Kidney Foundation of Central PA
“Many people don’t realize that kidney disease often develops silently, with symptoms appearing only in later stages,” said Wright. “Through this presentation, we want to empower the community with knowledge about prevention, early detection, and available support services.”
The event will conclude with a Q&A session, allowing attendees to ask questions and receive informational materials.
