Motorists traveling on Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County should prepare for lane restrictions as PennDOT conducts roadwork in multiple locations.
The work, which includes crack sealing and pothole patching, is set to begin on Monday, March 31, 2025, and continue through Thursday, April 3, 2025.
All restrictions will be in effect from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily.
Roadwork Details:
Interstate 81 South – Ryan and Butler Townships
- Work Type: Crack Sealing
- Location: Between Exit 124 (PA 61) and Exit 116 (PA 901)
- Restriction: Southbound lane restriction
Interstate 81 South – Kline, Delano, and Mahanoy Townships
- Work Type: Pothole Patching
- Location: Between the Luzerne County Line and Exit 131 (PA 54)
- Restriction: Southbound lane restriction
Interstate 81 North – Frailey, Foster, and Butler Townships
- Work Type: Crack Sealing
- Location: Between Exit 112 (PA 25) and Exit 119 (Highridge Park Road)
- Restriction: Northbound lane restriction
PennDOT urges drivers to remain alert while traveling through these work zones and to anticipate possible slowdowns. Motorists are encouraged to use caution and allow for extra travel time during the scheduled maintenance period.
