North Schuylkill Names Anthony Agosti as New Boys’ Basketball Head Coach

The North Schuylkill Board has officially named Anthony Agosti as the new Head Coach of the Spartans’ Boys’ Basketball team.

The decision was made during the board’s meeting on Wednesday evening, marking a new chapter for the Spartans' basketball program.

Agosti has spent the past five years as an Assistant Coach with the Tamaqua Area Blue Raiders.

A 2014 graduate of Marian Catholic High School, Agosti was a multi-sport athlete, competing in football, basketball, and baseball. He went on to attend Lebanon Valley College, where he continued both his academic and football careers. However, after two years, he made the decision to return home to help manage his family’s business. It was during this time that he discovered his passion for coaching, taking on roles with Marian Catholic’s basketball and baseball programs from 2016 to 2019.

In 2019, Agosti joined Jim Barron’s coaching staff at Tamaqua Area, where he has contributed to the Blue Raiders’ program for the past five seasons. Now, he steps into the head coaching role at North Schuylkill, eager to make an impact and build on the team’s success.

“I’m incredibly honored and excited to lead the North Schuylkill basketball program,” Agosti said. “It will be an honor to coach for a school that has already produced so many championship teams.”
