Pottsville Rotary Club Celebrates March Students of the Month

The 2025 March Students of the Month of the Pottsville Rotary Club were honored at the Rotary Club weekly meeting on Wednesday, March 5, at Vito’s Coal Fired Restaurant in St. Clair.

Congratulations to the following students:

MINERSVILLE AREA HIGH SCHOOL

Madison Eckert

Madison Eckert is the daughter Mandy and Adam Eckert, Minersville. Her school activities include Aevidum Club, SADD, Student Council and Pep Club. In the community, she volunteers at the blood drive and the baseball concession stand.

After graduation, Madison plans to attend Bloomsburg University for Nursing.


Owen Fortna

Owen Fortna is the son of Holly Pritiskutch & Nathan Fortna, Forestville. His school activities include Student Council and a member of the Football, Baseball and Wrestling teams. In the community, he volunteered at the Tri Valley Novice Wrestling Tournament, Football Car Wash, delivered food to Hillside SPCA that was collected by the Elementary Center and helped with various school events.

After graduation, Owen plans to continue his education and major in Sports Analytics.

POTTSVILLE AREA HIGH SCHOOL

Makenzie Reber

Makenzie Reber is the daughter of Charles Reber and Amy DiPrima, Pottsville. Her school activities include color guard, tennis, concert band, yearbook staff, drama club, ecology club, choir, sketch club, quiz team, Upward Bound, debate club, National Honor Society, and German National Honor

Society. In the community, Makenzie was a Trio Upward Bound community service volunteer with the Bloomsburg community library and deployed military outreach.

After graduation, she plans to attend Temple University for Business Management and Marketing to become a Marketing Director.

Connor McGowan

Connor McGowan is the son of Paula Dillman-McGowan and Neal O’Brien, Pottsville. His school activities include Drama Club, MiniThon, Key Club, and Horseback Riding.

In the community, he volunteers at Saint Claire of Assisi as an Altar Server, Schuylkill County Therapeutic Riding Program, and at Saint Luke’s University Health Network

After graduation, Connor plans to attend either Pennsylvania State University Park or Temple University as a Biology major. He plans to pursue a career in the healthcare industry.

NATIVITY HIGH SCHOOL

Giana Bagley

Giana Bagley is the daughter of Megan Souchak and Fred Bagley, Pottsville. Her school activities include Drama Club, Band, Chorus, Music Ministry, Yearbook, Evangelization Team, and Art Club.

She volunteered in the community at St. Patrick’s Soup Kitchen and as a Girl Scouts Camp Counselor.

After graduation, Giana plans to enter the workforce during a gap year and then attend the New York Film Academy for film acting and documentary filming. She hopes to make her own music one day, publish a poetry book, travel the world, make nature documentaries and act in movies.

Noah Dolbin

Noah Dolbin is the son of Josh and Jennifer Dolbin, New Ringgold. His school activities are Football, Basketball, and Track. He volunteers with the Knights of Columbus to make and serve meals for the needy, helps with the Salvation Army at Christmas, and played a charity basketball game with the children at St. Joseph’s Center.

After graduation he plans to continue with his academic and football career at the United States Military Academy West Point. He would like to serve 5 years in the Army and then work in his field of study.
