Jane E. Myro, age 57, of Port Carbon, PA passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 9th, 2025 at her home.

Born in Pottsville, PA on August 7, 1967, she was the daughter of the late Patrick Francis and Sandra Jean (Flail) Moore, Sr.

Jane was a graduate of Pottsville Area High School, Class of 1985. She loved animals and was a wonderful Mother and grandmother

Jane is survived by her fiance' Jose Lopez, Port Carbon; daughters: Justine Myro and Jaimie Myro and a granddaughter Jenevieve Myro, all of Cressona; a brother Patrick Moore, Jr. and his wife Janice, Hegins; a sister Debra Zyk and her husband Andrew, Cressona; nieces and nephews; and her furbabies Luna and Sol.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, Port Carbon at 11AM on Thursday, March 20th, with Rev. Dolores Smith officiating.

Relatives and Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday morning from 9-11AM at the Funeral Home.

Interment will be held private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jane's memory to the Ruthsteinert SPCA, 28 Wertz Drive, Pine Grove, PA 17963.

James A. "Jim" Weikel, Jr.
, 70 of Pottsville, died Monday at home.

He was born July 28, 1954 in Pottsville, a son of the late James A. Sr., and Sylvia Moyer Weikel.

He attended Schuylkill Haven Area High School, Pottsville Area High School and Lehigh Baber School, Allentown.

Jim was a Barber for 50 years prior to retiring operating his own barber shop from his home.

Jim was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville; a 40-year member of Humane Fire Co. Pottsville, and the Mustang Club of America. Throughout his life Jim was proud of his 1973 Metallic Blue Ford Mustang especially when it was the feature car for the 2009 Great Pottsville Cruise T-Shirt. He also enjoyed antique car shows, trains 60s music which could be heard playing at his barber shop.

Surviving are his wife Marie Pauly Weikel; a daughter Desiree Weikel, Pottsville; 2 grandsons, Wesley and Benjamin Evans; 2 brothers, Jeffery Weikel and his wife Jacqui, Pottsville; Todd Weikel, Cressona; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins.

Funeral services will be held Monday March 17th at 11AM from Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to viewing at the church Sunday evening March 16th from 5-7PM and Monday March 17th, from 10AM until the time of services at the church. Interment will follow services at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Jim be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 W. Arch St., Pottsville, PA 17901 or Humane Fire Co., 200 Humane Ave., Pottsville, PA 17901.

Glen Arthur Welker, age 82, of Lykens, PA died March 11, 2025, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born on November 30, 1942 in Harrisburg, PA the son of the late Phyllis (Welker) Garber.

In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by a son Gary Smeltz, brother Jim Umholtz, and son-in law Robert Ketchem.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years Claudia A. (Reedinger) Welker, daughters Lisa Kolva (Troy) and Marci Ketchem, grandchildren Zachary Smeltz (Melissa), Megan Williams (Corey), Kassandra Lenker, Mackenzy Zerby (Derrick), Mitchell Lenker (Jessica), Kelsey Kolva, Jennifer Ketchem (Stephen Dunst), and Joey Ketchem, great grandchildren Blake, Colton, Delaney, Shane, Henry, Everleigh and Eloise. He is also survived by a niece Beth who was like a daughter and took the best care of the compound, as well as multiple nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Glen was a 1960 graduate of Lykens High School.

He served as a career airman in the U.S. Air Force. During his long tenure he served at Air Force Bases in Lackland, TX, Lowny, CO, Forbes, KS, Chaumont and Phalsborough, France Norwich, Germany, Plattsburg, NY, Murted and Eskisehiv, Turkey, Volk Field, Takhli and Ubon, Thailand, Ellsworth, SD, Aviano, Italy, Ramstern Germany, McGuire, NJ, and Indianhead, MD.

He served in active duty during the Vietnam War.

Among his distinguished awards during service were the Air Force Senior Missile Man Badge, the Master EOD Badge, and after 26 years of service retired with the rank of Chief Master Sgt. (E-9).

He was a Dauphin County Council Member and Inspector for the VFW District 18, the arthritis and diabetes inspector for many years, served as chairman for the Poppies, and District 18 hospitality room chairman.

Locally Glen was a member of the Gratz VFW where he served as trustee 91-93, Sr. Vice Commander 94-95, Jr. Vice Commander 97-98, Surgeon 98-99, Commander 2002-2006, Quartermaster and Adjutant 2007-2025. He was instrumental in the food bank at the VFW, a member of the White Hat Club, and the home association. He had a great love for organizing and serving with the Honor Guard for funeral honors, and cared for the ordering of flags for nine local cemeteries.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Minnich Family Funeral Homes, Inc. from 9:30 AM-11:00 AM. Graveside services will follow with military honors at Calvary Cemetery, Wiconisco.

Barbara Rochelle Bond
, 87, of Williamstown passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, March 12, 2025 at her home.

Rochelle was born in Williamstown on Wednesday, June 16, 1937, a daughter of the late Stanley and Barbara Lewis Adams. She was a 1955 graduate of the former Williamstown High School.

She was of the Methodist faith.

Rochelle dedicated her life to her family. She found immense joy in spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and could always be found cheering them on from the sidelines at sporting events and in life in general. Her love for parties and spending time with family and friends made her an exceptional hostess, bringing people together with her incredible cooking. She always made sure the Bonds participated in the Williamstown Halloween Parade, a tradition that they have done for decades. Rochelle was also an accomplished seamstress, loved to dance, had a talent for crafting, and had an impressive collection of teapots.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, John "Bill" Bond, 2022; a daughter, Valerie Butler; a grandson, Bubba Bond.

Surviving are her seven children, Christine Kohler, wife of the late Brian Kohler, Mechanicsburg, John "Jack" Bond and his wife Lori, Tower City, Renee Dallatore and her husband Louie, Schuylkill Haven, Vicky Mitchell and her husband Paul, Wellsboro, Joann Rodichok and her husband Charlie, Williamstown, Paul Bond and his wife Gerlinde, Lykens, and David Bond and his wife Dawn, Selinsgrove; a son-in-law, Jerry Butler, Mechanicsburg; 23 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren with another on the way; four sisters, Berdine Schwalm, Carol Walker, Audrey Messner, and Gwen Leuschner and her husband Keith; nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Rochelle's life will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10-11 at the chapel. Private burial will be in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
