Charlotte R. Zerby
, 83, of Lykens, passed away Tuesday morning, March 18, 2025 at her home with her family by her side after a long and courageous fight against cancer.

Born in Joliett on Friday, September 19, 1941, a daughter of the late Roy and Ethel Updegrove Yerges. Charlotte was a 1959 graduate of the former Porter Tower High School and a graduate of cosmetology school where she became a licensed beautician.

She was a retired supervisor at the former Lebro Shirt Factory, Lykens and was also a self-employed beautician for many years.

Charlotte was a faithful member of the Lykens United Methodist Church.

She will be remembered for always putting her families needs above her own, her family was her life. She also had a love for fishing, and many of her fondest memories were made casting a line with her family by her side.

Known affectionately as "Mem", she wore this title with pride and joy. To her, being "Mem" wasn’t just a name—it was her greatest honor, and she embraced it wholeheartedly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Zerby, Sr., 2015, a great grandson, Chet Hubler; three sisters, Florence Tubbs, Lillian Shepler and Catherine Rogers; three brothers, Harry, Arthur and Roy Yerges.

Charlotte is survived by her three sons, Ronald Zerby, Jr. and his wife Charlene, Lykens, Daniel Zerby and his wife Heidi, Gratz and Billy Zerby and his wife Jessica, Powells Valley; six grandchildren, Shane, Shannon, Zach, Cody, Colten and Hunter; 5 great grandchildren, Caitlyn, Jordan, Jacob, Tyler and Jacob; one great great grandson, Axel, a brother Charles Yerges and his wife Shirley, Joliett, a sister, Sandra Schlein and her husband Robert, Lincoln. Nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025 at 11:00 from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home Inc., Tower City with Pastors Annette Shutt and John Lesher officiating. Viewing will be from 10-11 at the chapel. Charlotte will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Gratz Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory can be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital, Suite 501 Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Albert G. Gricoski
, 95, of Frackville, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025 at Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport.

Born in Shamokin, March 31, 1929, he was a son of the late Edward F. and Sophia E Bartko Gricoski (Gray).

He graduated from Shamokin High School, class of 1947 and received a Bachelors Degree in English from Penn State University.

He was a US Army Veteran having served during the end of WWII and the Korean War. He held the rank of Sergeant 1st class. He was stationed in Africa and last served with the 334th Communication Recon Company, Fort Devens, Massachusetts.

Albert was a PA State Policeman for 32 years retiring in 1979. His service included numerous field assignments as well as being an instructor at the State Police Academy and taught criminal law to many local Municipal Policemen. He established the Gricoski Detective Agency, providing private investigations for local attorneys and security guard services and polygraphs to company’s and individuals. He was also Security Director at the former Morgan Knitting Mill, Hometown, before fully retiring.

He was a devoted member of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Frackville, where he served as a lector, and was active with many church activities including the annual church picnic.

He was committed to Community Service donating many hours to improve Frackville, he led the efforts with the original Christmas Lights Committee, the Centennial Committee, the Community Pool fundraising and was instrumental in developing the Little League Complex as chairman for several years.

He was a past Grand Knight and District Deputy of the Knights of Columbus; past Exhalted Ruler of the BPOE Elks Lodge #1533, Frackville; a member of the FOP Philip Melley Lodge #65; the State Police Retirement Assoc. and a member of the American Legion.

He enjoyed playing golf at Mountain Valley Golf Course, traveling to China, Central Europe and almost all the points of interest across the United States.

In addition to his parents he was preceded by his wife of 65 years Lorraine Watral Gricoski, in 2020; two sons; David T. Gricoski, in 2021 and Michael G. Gricoski, in 2023; a daughter-in-law Donna Gricoski, in 2024; and a brother, Leonard Gricoski.

Albert is survived by children Helen and Robert Pryslak; Stephen and Margaret Gricoski and Albert L. and Denise Gricoski; 11 grandchildren; Rev. Thomas Gricoski, OSB; Marie Pryslak; Jeanie Gricoski, DO; Lorraine Pryslak; Stephen Gricoski; Andrea Youngfleish; Michael Gricoski; Matthew Gricoski; Rachel Gricoski; David Gricoski and Andrew Gricoski; 5 great grandchildren; Selena, Tristan, Jax, Myles and Ripley; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the convenience of the family at St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Frackville with Albert’s grandson Rev. Thomas Gricoski, OSB as celebrant; Interment with Military Honors will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Donations can be made in Albert’s name to St. Joseph the Worker Parish Memorial fund, 7 S. Broad Mountain Ave., Frackville, PA 1793.
