Fifteen talented athletes from the Schuylkill YMCA Blue Fins competed at the 2025 Pennsylvania YMCA Central District Championships, held from March 7-9 at the Graham Aquatic Center in York, PA.
Each swimmer met the qualifying standard to participate in this highly competitive event, where they aimed to secure a spot at the Pennsylvania YMCA State Championships.
The District Championships brought together top swimmers from across the region, all striving for a spot at states. Demonstrating skill and determination, four standout Blue Fins athletes—Brook Ackell, Brody Ackell, Abel Kakol, and Booker Hostetter—earned their place at the PA YMCA State Championships.
These swimmers placed within the top 20 in one or more events, securing their chance to compete at the state-level meet.
The PA YMCA State Championships took place from March 21-23 at the Peak Health Aquatic Center at Mylan Park in Morgantown, WV, hosted by West Virginia University. Among the Blue Fins competitors, Brook Ackell achieved the highest finish for the team, securing an impressive fourth-place finish in the Girls 10 and Under 100 Butterfly event with a time of 1:16.13.
