A man wanted in connection to a kidnapping and assault case in Delaware was taken into custody in Berks County on Friday, March 7, 2025.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Hamburg, 60-year-old John Charles Bell, of St. Clair, was apprehended following a targeted search along Route 61 in Tilden Township. Authorities were actively looking for Bell's vehicle after receiving reports that he was driving in the area.
Around 9:00 a.m., troopers spotted Bell’s vehicle near the intersection of Route 61 and Cabela Drive. Law enforcement officers conducted a felony traffic stop, successfully taking Bell into custody without incident.
Bell was wanted by the Delaware State Police on charges including felony kidnapping, assault, and other related offenses. Following his arrest, he was transported to Berks County Central Booking, where he was processed on fugitive from justice charges.
He is currently being held in custody as he awaits extradition to Delaware to face the charges against him. No further details have been released at this time.
