According to court documents, State Police were dispatched to Haddock Road in Kline Township, near McAdoo, on March 18, 2025, following a report of a threat.
Upon arrival, troopers encountered a man with an injury to his left eye. The victim told police that his son, 48-year-old Russell Bahrey, had punched him and threatened to burn the house down.
While troopers were speaking with the victim, Bahrey allegedly fled the residence through a bathroom window. He was later located in the woods south of the home and taken into custody.
During questioning, Bahrey reportedly told officers, "It's a good thing you got me when you did, because I would have went back and burned the house down."
Bahrey has been charged with simple assault, terroristic threats, and harassment. He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli, Frackville, and committed to Schuylkill County Prison on $25,000 bail.
He remains in custody, with a preliminary hearing scheduled before Judge Tarantelli on April 16, 2025.
