A man is recovering after being stabbed multiple times in an early-morning altercation in Saint Clair on Friday, April 18, 2025, according to the St. Clair Police Department.
At approximately 1:41 a.m., police received a report that a stabbing victim was en route to a local hospital. Officers responded and made contact with the male victim, who recounted that he had gone to the 100 Block of North Second Street to check on the well-being of a woman he had been with earlier in the evening.
While speaking with the woman, the victim said he was confronted by a man he knew as "Queso." The victim told officers that "Queso" attempted to strike him, prompting the victim to use a car door to push him away. Moments later, "Queso" allegedly stabbed him multiple times in the upper torso.
As officers were speaking with the victim at the hospital, 24-year-old Roberto Junior Martir Crespo of Saint Clair called 911 and admitted to the stabbing. Crespo stated he was also heading to the hospital, complaining of leg pain, though police noted he had no visible injuries. A knife containing blood, hair, and fatty tissue was recovered from Martir-Crespo’s clothing.
The Pennsylvania State Police Forensics Unit assisted St. Clair Police in processing the crime scene.
Martir-Crespo was taken into custody and arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer on a range of charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possessing the instrument of a crime, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct, harassment, and public drunkenness.
Judge Bayer ordered Martir-Crespo held at Schuylkill County Prison on $50,000 straight cash bail.
The condition of the victim has not been released.
