Nearly 100 Kids Take Part in Dustin's Adventureland's Egg Hunt

Nearly 100 children with special needs gathered at the Minersville Lions Pavilion on Saturday for the annual “Explore Schuylkill Special Needs Egg Hunt,” hosted by Dustin’s Adventureland.

The event featured closed to 2,000 brightly colored, treat-filled eggs.

Organizers say this year’s event marked the 2nd largest turnout yet, a sign of its growing impact within the Schuylkill County community.

Each registered child received an event t-shirt, thanks to generous support from local sponsors including Explore Schuylkill, Aarons Sales and Lease, Minersville Lions, Minersville Borough, and a host of shirt sponsors. The egg hunt, tailored specifically for children ages 0–16 with developmental, physical, and sensory differences, included zones suited to varying ability levels, so every child could enjoy the hunt at their own pace.

In addition to the egg hunt, families enjoyed complimentary food and drinks, as well as a safe and welcoming atmosphere filled with laughter, encouragement, and community support.

Dustin’s Adventureland continues to champion inclusive recreation with other annual events such as a special needs fishing rodeo and Christmas celebration, all designed to create memorable experiences for children who are too often overlooked in traditional programming.

The organization is also fundraising to build an all-inclusive playground in Palo Alto.
