No Tax Increase in Proposed North Schuylkill 2025-2026 Budget

There is no tax increase expected for residents of the North Schuylkill School District.

During its regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, April 9, the North Schuylkill School Board unanimously approved the proposed 2025-2026 district budget, moving the $39 million spending plan one step closer to final adoption.

The proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year totals $39,079,725 and maintains the current tax rates set during the 2024-2025 fiscal year. Board members will hold a final vote on the budget during their June meeting.

Residents across both Schuylkill and Columbia Counties will see no changes in their school-related tax obligations. The real estate tax rate remains steady at 48.40 mills for properties in both counties.

Additionally, the occupational assessment tax is unchanged at $218.50, while the real estate transfer tax and earned income tax both stay at 1.0%. The local services tax remains at $5.00, and both Per Capita taxes (511 and 679) continue to be set at $0.00.

The final adoption of the 2025-2026 budget is scheduled for a vote at the board’s May meeting.
