Pottsville Woman Charged with Assault After Domestic Dispute


A Pottsville woman was locked up in Schuylkill County Prison overnight after a domestic dispute.

According to Pottsville Police, on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2025, around 11:15pm, police were dispatched to the 600 block of North Centre St. for a report of domestic dispute. 

Upon arrival, Officers made contact with Korian Lugo Santiago, age 34, of Pottsville and her 29-year-old boyfriend who were arguing on the sidewalk. 

Police immediately separated the pair, to speak with them individually. 

While speaking with the male, who was the initial 911 caller, he explained to police that the couple had been having a heated argument over infidelity when, during the course of the argument, Lugo Santiago slapped him in the head several times and attempted to choke him. He then reported that he was able to capture one of the incidents where Lugo Santiago struck him, on video, using his cell phone. 

The male victim then played the video for police, which did show Lugo Santiago striking him in the head. 

Lugo Santiago denied striking Sosa, stating that he made the accusations up.

Police then arrested Lugo Santiago for one count of Simple Assault, pursuant to the 2711 Domestic Violence Act.

A preliminary arraignment was held before on-call Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer where a bail was set at $2,500, 10%. 

Lugo Santiago was remanded to the Schuylkill County Prison, unable to post $250.00.
