Guy R. Zelinsky
, 76, of Pottsville, passed away on April 10, 2025, at his residence.

Born in Pottsville on February 24, 1949, he was the son of the late Valentine and Margaret (Alban) Zelinsky.

He was a 1966 graduate of Nativity B.V.M. High School and later attended Penn State University. Guy served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard for over eight years and was stationed at the Pottsville office. He was later employed by Meridian Bank.

Guy enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, David Zelinsky, and his brother in law, Charles Matz.

He is survived by his two sisters, Darlene Matz of Pottsville and Margaret (Thomas) Olson of Macungie; two nieces, Melissa Balmer and Michelle Olson (Obermiller), two great nieces, Emily and Samantha.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

Arrangements are under the care of Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Pottsville.

Catherine (Vidal) Laub
, 59, of Pottsville passed away peacefully Sunday April 6, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loved ones

Born in Pottsville August 17, 1965, she was a daughter of the late Emanual “Junior” and Virginia (Shaw) Vidal.

She was of the Catholic Faith.

She is survived by her partner of 21 years Nicholas Uroskie; Sons Austin Laub of Pottsville; Robert Kline of Pottsville; Justin Kline of Pottsville; James Laub of Pottsville; Daughter Katy Lynn Kline of Minersville; Brothers Ronald Vidal of Pottsville; Daniel Vidal of St. Clair; Robb Kenyon of FL; Sean Kenyon of FL; Sisters Brenda Holodick of Hazelton; Tina Vidal of Pottsville; twin sister Gertie of Hazelton; Shirley Malfatti of OH; 8 Granddaughters; 2 grandsons; Aunts Uncles Nieces and Nephews.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday April 19, 2025 from St. Clair Wade United Methodist Church23 N. Front St. St. Clair, PA 17970 with Rev. Jack Murray officiating. Friends may call from 10:00AM-11:00AM at the church Dutcavich Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Paulette E. Rex
, 69, of Andreas, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2025 at St. Luke’s Miners Memorial in Coaldale.

Born July 17, 1955 in Pottsville the daughter of the late Paul R. and Elizabeth (Arner) Hoppes.

Paulette is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Dennis R. Rex; son Neil D. husband of Christine (Hoffman) Rex; daughters Amy P. wife of Craig Zeigenfuss, Shelly E., wife of Kyle Belanchik; grandchildren: Riley, Chase, Abbey, Jayden, Zane, Jaxson, and Kinsley; sister-in-law, Charlene Miller; brother-in-law, Wellis Balliet; nieces and a nephew. Paulette was also predeceased by; sister, Geraldine Balliet, and brother-in-law Albert Miller.

Paulette was a graduate of Tamaqua Area High school, Class of 1973. Paulette and Dennis were the co-owners of Miller & Rex Dairy Farm, a multi-generational family dairy farm, from 1977 to 2019. She was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Church of West Penn.

Paulette loved nothing more than spending time with her family and grandchildren. She devoted countless hours to babysitting her seven grandchildren as the most loving Mammy. Baking was one of her favorite hobbies which has now been passed on to her granddaughters. She was most noted for her pies, pan cookies, and cherry cheese delight. She spoiled Dennis with her homestyle Pennsylvania Dutch cooking. She took pride in caring for her lawn and landscaping even during her illness. An avid reader, Paulette loved reading her Amish novels as well as taking day trips to Lancaster.

No matter what challenge was thrown her way during her untimely illness, she faced it with unwavering strength and bravery.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 16th from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. from St. Peter’s Church, 184 St. Peter’s Road, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252 and again on Thursday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M.

Funeral services will be held at St. Peter’s Church on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 11:00 A.M., Rev. Clifford Herring to officiate.

Interment St. Peter’s Church Cemetery.

Memorials in Paulette’s name in care of St. Peter’s Church for the organ fund.

Douglas A. Waidell
, 49 years of age, of Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Salisbury Twp. after a brief illness.

Born Wednesday, May 28, 1975, in Coaldale, Pennsylvania, the son of the late George Waidell. Surviving are; his mother Sandra L. "Sandy" (Gill) Waidell; wife of 20 years, Alison M. (Kowalek) Waidell and their son, Elliot J. Waidell; brother, George J. Waidell his wife, Jennifer, and their son Jonathan; in-laws, William and Ellen Kowalek; sister-in-law, Stephanie Snow wife of Ken and their children, Quinton and Ethan. Many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends also survive Doug.

A 1993 Tamaqua High School graduate, Doug was a member of the Tamaqua Blue Raiders football team. He matriculated to Muhlenberg College in Allentown, earning his Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and was a brother of Sigma Phi Epsilon. Doug currently worked as a Sr. Salesforce Developer for ZipRecruiter. Doug and Alison lived in Arizona for many years, and both enjoyed hiking the Superstition Mountains. A talented musician, Doug played drums in a number of bands while living in Arizona, some of them being Bad Hobbit and Everybody But Phil. Doug instilled his love of music in his son as he had inherited his from his father, George. Doug enjoyed golfing and watching Penn State Football while enjoying the companionship of his dog, Phoebe.

A Funeral service will be held at 4 o'clock P.M. on Thursday April 17, 2025 from the funeral home. Rev. Nicholas L. Pence of the Palm Schwenkfelder Church will officiate. Friends may call from 2:00 P.M. until the time of services.

Jerry Lee Wuerstle, 79 of New Ringgold, PA, passed away peacefully in his sleep April 10, 2025 at home. He was the loving husband of Kathleen M. (Schultz) Wuerstle, married 54 years.

Born February 12, 1946, in Perkasie, PA, he was the son of the late Herbert and Constance (Moore) Wuerstle.

He was a graduate of Penn Ridge High School.

Jerry was a lifelong hard worker, and cowboy at heart. He loved their cats, Blondie's breakfasts, and enjoyed transporting students on Kistler Transportation Bus 51. He sold steel for many years and drove big rig and tri-axle.

In addition to his spouse, he is survived and deeply missed by his loving family including daughters: Jennifer Lee and partner David Keithan of Lake Wynonah, Kimberly and her husband Brett Weiner of Whitehall, Tracy Kramer and her family, and brother: Herbert husband of Audrey Wuerstle, and nieces and nephews.

Rose D Chukusky
, 90, of Minersville, passed away Thursday, April 10th, peacefully at her home.

Rose was born in Pottsville, Pa. on April 7, 1935, a daughter of the late Alvira (Trasatt) and Thomas D'Alessandro.

She was the widow of Anthony B. Chukusky.

She was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Church of the Holy Family Parish Minersville.

Rose was a Secretary for the GJ Bear Company. She enjoyed being a member of the Outlaw Country Line Dancing Group, and exercise group at Extreme Fitness, Saint Clair.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband , Anthony, her Step father, Joseph Freiler, Brothers, Louis and John D'Alessandro, Brother and sister in law Arthur & Bernice Bohard.

Rose is survived by a daughter, Lori, wife of Rick Stevenosky. Rose is also survived by a sister, Julie Jensen , and brother, Anthony D'Alessandro, husband of Karen She is also survived by Granddaughter, Rachel Brahler, In laws Albert and Arlene Chukusky, Madea and Anne Marie D'Alessandro. Nieces and nephews.

Services are private at the convenience of family. Interment at Schuylkill Memorial Park Schuylkill Haven.
