Francis R. Reber Sr., 78, of Minersville passed away Monday March 31, 2025 at his home.
Born in Pottsville March 30, 1947 he was a son of the late Morgan and Sarah (Losch) Reber.
He worked at several area construction companies before retiring from Schloch Construction.
Francis enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the Casino and rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Sara (Geiger) Reber; a granddaughter Victoria; 4 Brothers Doug Starr, James Losch, Morgan Reber and Robert Reber; a sister Dorothy Purcell.
Surviving are 2 Sons Francis Reber Jr. and his companion Danielle of Branchdale; Richard Reber and his wife Jackie of Oklahoma; 3 Daughters Deborah Bowers and her husband Dave of Pottsville; Laura Pekera and her husband James of Lavelle; Kimberly Hole and her husband James of Minersville; 9 Grandchildren Megan, Taylor, Alyssa, Dylan, Ava, Michael, Kenny, Jacob and Alex; 5 Great Grandchildren; 2 Brothers Charles Reber and his wife Cathy; Fred Schwartz; Nieces and Nephews;
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 Monday from Dutcavich Funeral Home 200 Sunbury St. Minersville, PA 17954. Rev. Peggy A. Moser, 80, Pottsville and former Frackville resident passed away peacefully at The Gardens of York Terrace with her lunch bunch family by her side.
Born in Hazleton, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Dorothy (Connor) Asson. She worked as a banker for Pennsylvania National Bank and then M & T Bank until her retirement.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Moser; her two sisters: Mary Ellen Mincer and Helen Asson.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 10th at 11 a.m. from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St. Frackville with Rev. Dr. Kurt Kovalovich. Friends and relatives are invited to her visitation at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be held in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Frackville.

Mario Joseph Mascolo, 69 of Coaldale, PA, passed away March 31, 2025, in St. Luke's Hospital, Coaldale.
Born July 25, 1955, in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Andrew and Eileen (Nolan) Mascolo.
Mario attended John Adams High School in Ozone Park, NY.
He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era.
Surviving are his three children: Eileen Mascolo of New Port Richey, FL; Danielle Mascolo of Ozone Park, NY and Andrew Mascolo of Ozone Park, NY.
In addition is his companion Linda Correll of Coaldale; siblings, Andrew Mascolo of Coaldale and Michael Mascolo of Middletown, NJ.
Seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive, along with several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Friday, April 4th at 11am from the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, 655 East Broad Street, Tamaqua. A viewing will be held from 9:30am to 11am at the funeral home.
Burial will be held privately at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Lillian B. Gernert, beloved mother, sister, aunt, 82 years of age of West Penn Twp. Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025, at St. Luke's Miners Memorial in Coaldale, Pennsylvania.
Born Monday, June 22, 1942 in West Penn Township, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Deyman and Messida (Lorah) Hamm. Lillian was also predeceased by; her husband, Ronald P. Gernert Sr. on November 20, 1996; sister, Elaine Sterner.
Surviving are son, Ronald P. "Butch" Gernert, Jr. with whom she resided; sister, Mabel Smith; brothers, Larry Hamm and his wife Kay, Johnny Hamm and his wife Jeannie, Jesse Hamm and his wife Marie. Many nieces and nephews also survive Lillian.
A Tamaqua High School graduate, Lillian worked in the Textile Industry for many years. A devout member of Zion Stone Church of West Penn Township, Lillian enjoyed tending to her home and cutting grass.

Edward D. Watters, 83, of Ashland passed away Monday, March 31, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill East in Pottsville.

Wayne S. Hamilton, 82, of Orwigsburg, passed away Tuesday, April 1st, peacefully, at Lehigh Valley Health Network Schuylkill-East, Pottsville.
Wayne was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on November 20, 1942, a son of the late Doris Mae (Upton) and James Edgar Hamilton.
He was the husband of Lynda Beth (Lundbye) Hamilton. They were married on October 4th, 1969.
He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Orwigsburg, and he was a graduate of Blue Mountain High School, class of 1960. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years from 1964-1968, which included a tour of Vietnam from 1966-1967 at Tuy HOA Air Base is Saigon. He earned a Unit citation for service in Vietnam and good conduct service medal.
Wayne was employed from 1968 to 1970 for Matz Electric and was also a part-time policeman for Orwigsburg. From 1970 to 1977 he was the Police Chief of Orwigsburg after starting the first full time police force.
He graduated from Penn State, Schuylkill Campus, in 1977 with an Associates degree in Criminal Justice.
He attended Simmons School of Mortuary Science in 1977 in Syracuse, NY, and graduated in 1978. At that time, he began to work with his father-in-law at the John H. Lundbye Funeral Home, Inc. in Orwigsburg. After Mr. Lundbye's death in 1998, he became the owner and Supervisor with Kenneth Breiner, who then became the Director. Wayne educated many local funeral directors on the art of embalming.
Wayne's memberships include Black Diamond Lodge,Fraternal Order of Police; F&AM Lodge #138; Reading Consistory; He was a member and past president of the Orwigsburg Lions Club since 1968. He was also a Board member and Chairman of the Board of Schuylkill County AAA and he served as past President for two terms for Lebanon & Schuylkill Funeral Directors Association. He was also a member of the Pennsylvania & National Funeral Directors Associations. He was a member of the Schuylkill Country Club and the Second Mountain Rod and Gun Club.
Wayne was an avid fisherman, enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and was a car enthusiast, especially Corvettes..
In addition to his wife Lynda, of 55 years, Wayne is survived by two brothers, James E. Hamilton, husband of Marie, of Tallahassee, FL; Roger G. Hamilton, husband of Mary, of Charlotte, NC, and sister Barbara Whitely, wife of Bruce, of Lake Worth, FL; niece Beth Cozza , wife of Daniel; nephew James Hamilton, husband of Susan; niece Heather Hahn, wife of Nate; nephew Seth Huey, husband of Teddi; niece Taryn Fisher, wife of Drew; niece Heather Palmer, wife of Chris and niece Maegan Whitely, fiance of Eddie Espinoza; great nieces & nephews Olivia, Nolan, Brayden, Jaxson, Ashley, Anthony, Mia,Zoe, Colleen and Molly. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Barbara Huey and her husband, Curt; as well as numerous cousins.

An evening visitation will take place from 5:00 PM until to 8:00 PM on Thursday, April 10th at Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Orwigsburg, PA.
A Religious Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 11th at the funeral home with Rev. Jeff Johnson officiating. Guests are also invited to visit from 9:00 AM until time of service on Friday.
Interment Services with Military Honors will follow in Salem Evangelical Cemetery, Orwigsburg.

Mrs. Rose M. Milchick, age 89 of Locust Valley, Barnesville, died April 2, 2025 surrounded by family, at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Mrs. Rose M. Milchick, age 89 of Locust Valley, Barnesville, died April 2, 2025 surrounded by family, at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Rose graduated from Mahanoy Township High School and was a homemaker most of her life, where she took great pride in taking care of her family. She was always prepared to offer anyone who stopped by a grilled cheese and a beer. Rose also loved taking care of animals, whether it be her pets, her children's pets or the wildlife around her home. She will be greatly missed by all who were close to her.
Born October 23, 1935, she was the daughter of the late John and Veronica (Belovesick) Kachmar.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Milchick, 3 brothers, Joseph Kachmar, John Kachmar and Steve Kachmar.
Surviving are a son, George and his wife Edythe, a daughter Karen and her husband James Murtin, four grandchildren, Amanda, Madeline, Nicholas and Elizabeth, four great grandchildren, Delylah, Jackson, Scarlett and Lillian and two sisters, Mary Ann Chakan and Vernie Walters.
Private services will be at the convenience of the family. Interment will be with her husband at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City is in charge of arrangements.
Kathleen “Kay” Conroy, 91,of Mahanoy City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 2 with family by her side during a short stay at the LVHN Schuylkill-East Hospital.
Born October 15, 1933 in Morea, she was a daughter of the late Fred J. and Mary R. Kreitzer Klein and graduated from Mahanoy Township High School in 1951.
She was a member of the former St. Canicus Church, Mahanoy City; St. Richard’s Church, Barnesville; and the Mahanoy Area Democrat Women’s Club.
She retired from the Bureau of Worker’s Compensation, where she worked as a clerk stenographer. During retirement, she was last employed as a court attendant for the Court of Common Pleas of Schuylkill County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Conroy in 1997; her sister, Mrs. Elizabeth K. Coombe in 2018; two great-granddaughters, Jennifer and Jessica Chrin in 2008, and a lifelong best friend, Mrs. Anna Zimmerman in 2008.
She is survived by daughters, Mrs. Cindy Long and her husband, Thomas, of Barnesville, PA, and Mrs. Kathy Wall and her husband, Scott, of Mahanoy City, PA. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Dr. Tammy Chrin and her husband, Jeffrey; Mr. James Wall; and Mr. Michael Wall; and one great-granddaughter, Miss Christina Chrin; nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning from St. Richard’s Church, Barnesville, with Rev. Robert Finlan officiating. A visitation will be held from10 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church. Interment will follow at St. Canicus Parish Cemetery, Mahanoy City. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations in Kay’s name to MMI Preparatory School, 154 Centre St., Freeland, PA 18224 or the Humane Fire Company, 320 W.
