Born in Ashland, PA on October 2, 1941, he was the son of the late Gerald A. and Violet (Hancock) Hunt.
Eugene worked as a mechanic at Pope Motors in Pottsville until retiring.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Denise Hunt, brothers: Edward, Gerald, and Joseph Hunt and sisters: Loretta Luckenbill and Cecelia Hunt.
Eugene is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sandra Joy (Hubler) Hunt, Pottsville; two daughters: Lori McClure and Karen Serrano and her husband Alex, both of Pottsville; two sons: Eugene R. Hunt and his wife Carol, Pottsville and Jeremy Hunt and his wife Taylor, Tamaqua; eleven grandchildren: Ryan, Lauren, Korey, Devin, Sabrina, Sydney, Brandon, Gavin, AJ, Bobby, and Dilyn; four great grandchildren: Aaliyah, Luca, Lio, and Wyatt; three sisters: Rita Shultz, New Jersey, Dolores Weaver, Tower City, and Carol Ketner and her husband John Mill Creek; and nieces and nephews.
A Religious Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, Port Carbon at 11AM on Saturday, April 26th, with Rev. Chris Rothharpt officiating.
Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Saturday morning from 9-11AM at the Funeral Home.

Jeanne Augusta Rauch Murray, 99, of Summit Station, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at her home on April 23, 2025.
Born, March 9, 1926, in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, Jeanne was a proud graduate of Pottsville High School Class of 1943, where she remained deeply connected to her classmates, serving as her graduating class reunion organizer for many years.
While supporting her mother, Marion Rauch, in operating Rauch's CafĂ© on East Norwegian Street in Pottsville, Jeanne continued her education at Ford Business School. Her early years were shaped by a strong work ethic, a commitment to learning, and a devotion to family—values she carried with her throughout her life.
After graduating from Ford Business School, Jeanne became a business education teacher there and later taught in the evening adult high school program in Pottsville, where she helped many adults achieve their educational goals. She eventually served as the executive secretary of the Intermediate Unit 29 School System, retiring after a long and respected career in education and administration.
Jeanne was married to the late Zack Paul Murray, with whom she shared a loving and devoted partnership.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jeanne is preceded in death by her brother Charles Rauch and grandson Wesley Anchorstar.
She is survived by her three children, Kim Murray, Jon Murray, and Deborah Murray Montgomery; her grandchildren, Zachary Montgomery, Alexandra Montgomery, Aden Anchorstar, and Ty Murray; and her great-grandchildren, Luke, Ethan, and Stella Montgomery. She is also survived by her nephews, Scott and Eric Rauch, sons of her late brother, Charles Rauch.
Jeanne’s life was marked by dedication—to her family, her community, and the many students and colleagues she mentored. Her strength, warmth, and wisdom left a lasting legacy, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at Grabowski Funeral Home, Schuylkill Haven. A viewing will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services. Memories and condolences can be shared at www.grabowskifuneralhomes.com

Julie K. Schwerdtfeger, 56 of South Bethlehem, PA., passed away on April 16, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill.
Born in Newport, RI, she was the daughter of the late Marvin I. and Florence T. (Gold) Schwerdtfeger. Julie is survived by her sons, Tyrone D. Collins, Summit Hill, PA, Steven Coston, Allentown, PA; sister, Kelly Schwerdtfeger, Belmar, NJ; 8 Grandchildren.
