Anthony F. Bolinsky
, 88 of Frackville, PA., passed away on April 7, 2025 at his residence. He was the husband of Bernardine (Markowski) Bolinsky of 61 years. Born in Frackville, PA he was the son of the late Anthony J. and Jean M. (Szwabowicz) Bolinsky. Tony was a graduate of Butler Twp. High School, and was a US Army Veteran.

He was the owner of Tony's True Value Hardware Store in Frackville. He served on the board of directors for the Pennsylvania National Bank. He was a life member of the Elks and American Legion. He loved sports and was an avid golfer and also was a coin collector.

Surviving in addition to his wife is one son, Anthony J. Bolinsky, New York, NY; three brothers, Frank J. husband of Marleen Bolinsky, Frackville, PA, Rick A. husband of Barbara Bolinsky, Mowry, PA, Joseph husband of Louise Bolinsky, FL; sister, Patricia Vollenweider, FL along with a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the Mark J Hummel Funeral Home, 48 N Broad Mountain Ave., Frackville. A viewing will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Frackville, PA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Friendship Fire Company, PO Box 157, Frackville, PA. 17931. Robert J. Beaver, 59 of Girardville, passed away on April 7, 2025 at his residence. He was the fiancĂ© of Lynn Ferrari with whom he resided. 

Born in Pottsville, PA., he was the son of John P. and Claire (Zuber) Beaver of Girardville, PA. Robert was predeceased by a brother, John M. Beaver in 2022. 

Surviving are his parents John P. and Claire Beaver, Girardville, PA; Fiance Lynn Ferrari, Girardville, PA. Private services will be at the convenience of the family.

Nancy L Hatter, age 83, of Pitman, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025 at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

She was born on Sunday, May 4, 1941, in Pitman, a daughter of the late Marlin Weikel and the late Irene M (Wehry) Weikel.

Nancy was a graduate of Tri-Valley High School.

She worked at Sterman Masser Potato prior to her retirement.

She was a member of Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, Pitman.

Nancy enjoyed word search puzzles, gardening, and her family was her most important priority.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by a sister, Shirley M Zimmerman.

She is survived by her husband Allen L. Hatter, to whom she was married for 65 years.

She is also survived by two sons, Douglas A (Ana Younger) Hatter of Pitman and Jason A Hatter of Pitman; three sisters, Betty Wiest of Halifax, Mary Inch of Middleburg, and Lois Laboskie of Sunbury; three brothers, Glenn Weikel of Coal Township, Richard Weikel of Snydertown, and Randy Weikel of Hummels Wharf; and several nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Pitman.

Memorial contributions can be made to your favorite charity.

Sylvia A. Houseman, 88, of Tamaqua passed away Saturday April 5th at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem.

Born on March 29, 1937 in Palmerton she was the daughter of the late Gertrude (Young) and James Rehrig, Sr.

Sylvia was of the Protestant faith.

She was the wife of the late William E. Houseman who passed away in 2008.

Sylvia last worked for several garment factories in the Panther Valley over the years including KJ’s and Kiddie Clothes.

She was a member of the former YMCA in Tamaqua. She enjoyed playing bingo and being involved with the Tamaqua Seniors.

In addition to her spouse, she was preceded in death by; sister Joanne Rehrig; brother James Jr “Tom”; brother Robert; brother William.

Sylvia is survived by; son James “Jimmy” Houseman, Tamaqua; son Edwin Houseman, Tamaqua; daughter Joanne Roos (Jessie), New Ringgold; grandson Edwin Jr.

Services will be private at the family’s request.

Thomas W. Hoffman
, 89, of Ringtown, and a proud U.S. Navy veteran, passed away peacefully at home on April 6, 2025.

Born in Fern Glen, Tom was the son of the late Willard and Rose Hoffman. He was a talented mechanic and loved hunting, fishing, and camping.

He is survived by his wife Janice, to whom he was married for 64 years, his sister- Joan Brior, his two sons- Duane and his wife Ann and Darrell “Bart” and his wife Barb, and his daughter- Doreen and her husband Carl Wehry. His three grandchildren- Kris and his wife Jenny, Kevin and his wife Alexis, and Emily, his great grandson- Wesley James, along with several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, at St. Paul’s UCC, 100 E. Main St, Ringtown from 9 to 11am. Services will take place at 11am by Pastor Craig Zimmerman. Burial with military honors will immediately follow in the Old White Church Cemetery in Ringtown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Tom’s memory may be made to St. Paul’s UCC Church, Ringtown, PA.

John Tebin, Jr.
, age 87, of Port Carbon, PA passed away Monday, April 7th, 2025 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Allentown.

Born in Schoentown, PA on February 1, 1938, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Costello) Tebin.

John was a graduate of Port Carbon Soldier's Memorial High School, Class of 1955. He served in the US Airforce from 1955 till 1958. He owned and operated Tebin Contracting in Port Carbon. John was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in St. Clair and loved going hunting and fishing.

John is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen (Ferris) Tebin; two daughters: Kathy Tebin and her partner Gladys Evans and Jackie Smarr and her husband Anthony; two granddaughters: Natasha Cecchini and her husband Matthew and Olivia Smarr; two great-grandchildren: Karli and Collin Cecchini; a sister Dolores Gordon; two brothers: Tommy and Bobby Tebin; his best furry friend Buddy; and nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, St. Clair on Saturday April 12th at 10:30AM, with Msgn William Glosser officiating.

Relatives and Friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30AM at the church.

Interment will be held private.

Joan Ann M. (Valetske) Wallace
, was called to her heavenly home on April 6th, 2025, surrounded by her family after a long battle with leukemia.

Joni was born at home in Shenandoah on November 11th, 1936, along with a twin brother, Charles, to her parents, the late Charles and Mary (Denchy) Valetske.

She was a 1954 graduate of the former JW Cooper High School, and married Joseph Wallace on November 15th 1958 at St. George's Church. She was a member of the St. George Choir and St. Cecilia Chior. Joni was chosen the first Miss Shenandoah in 1955.

Joni worked as a secretary for Bolich Insurance Agency, Goodyear and the Evening Herald. She was treasurer for 15 years with the Shenandoah Senior Citizens.

In addition to her parents, Joni was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Joseph, on December 5th, 2022, and a sister Virginia Jurewicz.

She is survived by a son, Joseph Wallace; daughters Susan Whitehair and her significant other, Thomas Epp and Lynn, wife of Joseph Gallo.

Grandchildren, Joel Wallace; Ty Whitehair; Brielle Whitehair; Kaitlyn Quirk, RN; John Gallo and Joseph Gallo. Great grandchildren, Olivia and Xander Schreppel also survive, as does her twin brother, Charles Valetske.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, April 15th, 2025 at the Walukiewicz Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 South Jardin Street, Shenandoah. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 9-10 AM at the funeral home prior to the service. Joni will be laid to rest alongside her husband Joe at the Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery following the service.

Donations in Joan's memory are asked to be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Judes Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
