A photograph titled "Wally's Library," created by Nadia V. Zimmerman of Auburn, Schuylkill County, has been selected for inclusion in the Southeast Center for Photography's College '25 Online Exhibition.
Zimmerman, a Schuylkill Haven Area graduate, and a junior majoring in graphic design at Pennsylvania College of Technology, developed the piece as part of her Commercial Photography class. The exhibition is available for viewing from April 1 to April 30, showcasing works from young artists across the United States, Canada, and Finland.
Zimmerman's photograph features her pet bearded dragon, Wally, surrounded by an arrangement of books, playing cards, and teacups, drawing inspiration from the whimsical world of "Alice in Wonderland." Reflecting on her work, Zimmerman expressed excitement about incorporating Wally into the shoot, noting the connection to the dragon-slaying scene in "Alice in Wonderland."
The College '25 Online Exhibition is an open-theme showcase that invited college students to submit up to ten images of photography or photo-based art. Juror Polly Gaillard, a fine art photographer and program director at Photolucida, selected 50 photographs for the exhibition. The Southeast Center for Photography, located in Greenville, South Carolina, is dedicated to promoting the art and enjoyment of fine photography through exhibitions and educational programs.
