Thousands Brave Rain for Annual Yuengling Light Lager Jogger 5K in Pottsville

Not even the rain could dampen the spirits of the thousands who turned out Saturday morning for the annual Yuengling Light Lager Jogger 5K.

The popular event drew 2,352 runners from all walks of life, all gathering with a common goal: to support Team Red, White, and Blue, a nonprofit organization committed to improving the health and wellness of American veterans.

Starting and finishing at the historic Yuengling Brewery, participants tackled the 3.1-mile course that wound through Mahantango Street, West Norwegian Street, South 22nd Street, Howard Avenue, and back toward the brewery via South 20th Street and Mahantango Street.

Kyle Price of New Jersey once again proved his dominance on the course, winning the race with a blistering time of 17 minutes and 40 seconds. A multi-time champion of the event, Price maintained a strong lead throughout the race. Dominique Ramer, finishing 14th overall, captured the women's title with a time of 21 minutes and 26 seconds.

Wendy Yuengling, representing the nation's oldest brewery, was on hand to cheer runners at both the start and finish lines, helping set the energetic tone for the morning. Before the starting horn, Dale Verchick delivered a stirring rendition of the National Anthem.

After crossing the finish line, runners and supporters gathered back at the brewery for a post-race celebration. Rock band Hooligan provided the entertainment, keeping spirits high despite the soggy weather.
