A Shenandoah man is behind bars after police responded to a domestic disturbance earlier last week that led to the issuance of an arrest warrant.
On Thursday, April 3, 2025, officers with the Shenandoah Police Department were dispatched to the unit block of East Coal Street for a reported domestic incident.
According to borough police, a woman at the residence told officers that her boyfriend, 31-year-old Christopher Bagenstose, had been arguing with her. The situation escalated to the point where the woman locked herself in the bathroom and called 911.
Police say Bagenstose kicked open the bathroom door before fleeing the scene prior to officers’ arrival.
Following an investigation, police obtained an arrest warrant for Bagenstose on a charge of Simple Assault.
On Monday, April 7, 2025, at approximately 12:15 a.m., Shenandoah officers located and arrested Bagenstose outside his residence. He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker on the charge and remanded to Schuylkill County Prison after being unable to post the $10,000(10%) bail set by Kilker.
