Harrisburg – The Pennsylvania Treasury issued a warning on Friday about a phone scam targeting state residents. As part of the scam, callers fraudulently claiming to be from Treasury threaten to arrest residents if they don’t immediately provide credit card or other financial information to pay unpaid state taxes.

Men Charged with Retail Theft
Two men were charged with retail theft among other charges for stealing from the Hometown Wal-Mart.
According to Magisterial Records, Corey Coleman, of Tuscarora, and Joseph Etherington, Pottsville, were caught stealing merchandise from the HT Commons Wal-Mart in Hometown, Rush Townshp.
Both were charged with retail theft, receiving stolen property, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.

HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane's office today announced it has joined the Federal Trade Commission and the District of Columbia in a legal filing that challenges the proposed merger of Staples and Office Depot.
Interstate 81 Northbound Closed for Motor Vehicle Accident
Just before 2:00pm Monday, emergency personnel were called to Interstate 81 Northbound for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment.
The accident is reported to involve a tractor trailer, a car, and a truck.
Interstate 81 is being closed Northbound at the Pine Grove Exit (Exit 100). Traffic is being diverted through Pine Grove.
Traffic Southbound is reported to be stopped as well between Ravine and backing up towards Tower City.
UPDATE: 2:40PM - Southbound lanes should begin moving shortly.

Two Injured; One Flown After Crash Saturday
Around 4:00PM, Saturday, emergency personnel responded to a motor vehicle accident located at 2501 High Road, Mahanoy Plane near Gilberton.
Two people were injured in the one vehicle crash, where the vehicle sheared a utility pole.
No other details are available but one of the injured was transported via helicopter to an area hospital.
Gilberton, Mahanoy City West End, and Shenandoah ALS responded with the West End setting up the landing zone.

Four Charged with Illegally Obtaining Prescription Drugs
HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane's office today announced criminal charges have been filed against a woman who worked as a physician's assistant and three alleged co-conspirators all accused of illegally obtaining thousands of prescription pills in Schuylkill County.
