High Winds Plague County with Brush Fires on Sunday


Sunday proved to a be a busy day with brush fires around Schuylkill County.

Rush Twp Police Looking for Help Identifying Retail Thief

The Rush Twp. Police are looking for assistance in identifying the man in these photos.

Reported Fully Involved Structure Fire in North Manheim Twp.

Around 2:45pm, emergency personnel were called to 90 Seven Stars Road in Manheim Twp. for a fully involved structure fire.

Reported Fully Involved Fire in Ryan Twp; Grier City

Just after 2pm Sunday, emergency personnel were called to 41 Long Lane in Ryan Twp for a fully involved house fire.  This is the Grier City area of the township.

Early Morning Crash in Ashland

Around 5:30am, Sunday, November 2, 2014, emergency personnel were called to the 700 block of Walnut Street in Ashland for a motor vehicle accident.

Local Store Teams with GIrl Scouts For Turkey Contest

Frackville - Local retailer, Mustard Seed Mercantile will team up with Girl Scouts in Heart PA – Cadette/Senior/Ambassador Troop #31806, Hegins, to host The 2014 Talented Turkey Contest from October 29th to November 22, 2014. Any local school-aged children are eligible to submit their version of a turkey using any creative medium they choose including paper, paint, clay, foam, or other materials. Turkeys will be on display through November 22, 2014 at the Mustard Seed Mercantile’s Schuylkill Mall location near Sear’s.

Hometown Man Dies in Crash in Rush Township.

The victim of the fatal crash on Route 309 has been identified. The man who died in the crash was Raymond J. Poreca, 76,  of Hometown.
